About Me

Judy G.
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

Watching It Snow

Hello for today.  I'm sitting in my living room looking out our French Doors on to the porch and watching these huge, fluffy snowflakes fall.  Right now we are having a "surprise snowfall".  Don't you just love it when the weathermen get caught with their pants down?  Usually they all holler "Snow" days in advance of a potential few flakes falling - getting all the kids thinking that they're going to have some time off from school.  Then nothing happens but drizzly rain and cold.  This time they predictied drizzly rain and cold, and we got a beautiful, soft snowfall instead.  I love it!!  Freshly fallen snow just makes we want to grab a camera and go out a start taking pictures, but then I don't want to mess up the yard with my footsteps.  I guess I'll save the picture taking for tomorrow.  Of course by then, the dogs will have tracked their little prints all over the place.  We have a little mountain feist named "Feisty" (how clever) and a gorgeous Brittany spaniel named "Nick".  They're just good old farm dogs, who protect us from "haints" in the night, but we love them dearly.  We live on a perfect place for our dogs to run free - a 34 acre farm on the top of a hill, 1/4 a mile away from a rural road.  There is farmland all around us, so the dogs can spend their time hunting for squirrels, moles, and voles.  They like to run and play in the snow, but at night, they cuddle together in their nice warm, protected house, which has a vinyl door to keep the warmth in.
Now that I have updated my Cricuts and updated my Gypsy, it's time to go back to relieving the clutter in my craft room again.  My husband bought me the storage closet out on the back porch, and I'm starting to put things in it.  Some of them I'll sell at the semi-annual scrapbooking flea market that our local scrapbook store has, and other things are tools that I don't use often, but are taking up space in my room.  I do a little bit every day when I'm in and out, so it'll eventually get done.  Time to think about something to eat for supper.  Perhaps I'll write a little something later.  Take care.
