About Me

My Photo
Judy G.
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

THE FACES OF HARD LIVES

Here are some of the faces of people who actually lived in this part of Tennessee.  They told John Rice Irwin their stories and were of invaluable assistance to him in telling the history of this region.  Without these hard-working good people we wouldn't be who we are today.  We should all be proud of the strength and courage of these individuals, who perservered under the hardest of circumstances.  I don't know any of their names, except for Sgt. Alvin York and Roy Acuff, who was a good friend of Mr. Irwin.

This last photo is of my husband.  I don't know how he sneaked in....
