My sister and I are sooooo dumb. Last week we booked our airline tickets to go to an event in Missouri in May for 5 days. Jan (my sister) was at my computer looking for the cheapest flights, and when we went to book them with US Air, I assumed (wrongly) that she entered the correct date of our departure from Knoxville. This trip was her idea after all! Unfortunately, she booked our departure date one day late, and then put the tickets on her credit card. Today I finally printed off the confirmation of my flight, and looked at it. Yikes!! It was for the wrong day - fortunately the day we come home was correct. I called her and ruined her evening with the news and told her it was going to cost each of us another $150.00 to correct the mistake. I thought she was going to croak! Now, you've got to know my sister to understand. To put it nicely, she's very thrifty - actually she's a cheapskate! Her whole home up here is furnished with give-aways and thrift store finds - no kidding. I will say, she does have good taste in decorating though. Anyway, I was just glad we could get tickets for the correct day and chalk the $150.00 off as an expensive lesson learned about getting one's dates right. She'll stew about it for days, however. I'm beginning to ask myself why I even decided to go on this trip at all. My husband is asking this also. I wonder why!
