Judy G.
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

THE SPICES OF LIFE

There's a story behind this picture.  Tonight I was preparing something for supper, and the recipe called for paprika.  I knew I had paprika because I had used it not long ago.  But could I find it??  Of course not!  My collection of spices was in total disarray and everything was spread out (in no order)  in three cabinets over my stove.  I got so frustrated that I got a small stepladder and dragged everything out of those cabinets and I never did find the paprika.  By that time stuff was all over the kitchen counters.  I went ahead and did without the paprika (which I did finally find after supper), and after the dishes were finished, my husband and I moved my entire spice collection over to the top of the dining room table.  That's when I took this picture.  I had 3 and 4 of many of the same items, and the three little cute glass bottles with the white labels in the middle of the photo contain spices from when we first got married 46 years ago!  How embarrassing!
For the rest of the evening I was throwing away duplicates and arranging all of them in alphabetical order.  Tomorrow I'm going to the Dollar Store and buying some plastic containers to label the contents.  From now on, when I look for paprika, I'm going to be able to find it without tearing my kitchen apart.  That's my sermon for today.
