Judy G.
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

FROM THANKSGIVING TO ADVENT IN 3 DAYS

This past Sunday was the first Sunday in Advent.   We had just finished eating our Thanksgiving left-overs, and all of a sudden, a new time of year ha begun.  At our church we have an Advent candle with 4 smaller purple candles in a circle around it, and each week a family lights one of the purple candles at the front of the church, and talks about the Christmas traditions of their family.  The first candle is the candle of "Hope".  The hope that comes at this time of year is a message that dispels our fears, and this world has been a rather scarey place lately.  The things that have happened lately are beyond my comprehension.  So, instead of trying to make sense of it all, I will simply let the spirit of this Season of Advent soothe me and say to myself:
             All shall be well,
             And all shall be well,
And all manner of things shall be well.
